Toll Free Service

A toll free number can be a real money-saver for a residential or business customer. Just so you understand, a toll free number means you pay for the call when someone calls you. You can have a toll free number installed in your own home which rings in right on you main phone line. There is no need to have a second phone line installed. No installation costs, no up front charges, no monthly fees and no hidden charges of any kind.

A toll free number can be helpful if you have kids away at college who call home collect or from a payphone. If you have a husband or wife that travels across the country occasionally, they can now call home on your personal toll free number for the low rate of just 4.9 cents a minute. It sure beats the $4.00 a minute rate that many hotels charge these days! You may have elderly parents or grandkids that would love to talk to you more often, but just can't afford it. Many people use pre-paid calling cards with fairly low rates, but remember, these cards of billed in full one-minute increments, not the six-second billing increments that we offer, another big advantage. When I travel I use my toll free number to cal home and check my voice mail messages. It has saved me thousands of dollars over the years.

The PNG & ACCXX rate for a toll free number is 3.9 to 5.9 cents a minute (depending on the program you choose) for all calls that originate from out-of-state. PNG's 4.9 rate has a $15.00 monthly minimum or you will incur a $2.50 billing fee. If you spend less than $15.00 a month you would be better served choosing PNG's 5.9 cent rate which has no minimum calling requirements. You can also order a stand-alone toll-free number without even switching your long distance carrier.

The 3.9 to 5.9 rate is good on calls that originate from out-of-state. Your rate on toll free calls which originate in your own state varies depending on the in-state rate that we offer. For example, the in-state rate in Michigan is 5.9. Other states can be higher or lower. Check the Blessed Hope rate chart for the rate in your individual state.

Be careful on calls that originate from your home state when using the PNG toll free service. For example, in Arizona our in-state rate is 14.9 cents a minute. A customer can lower the rate to 7.9 with our Power Dial option, which allows you to dial a toll free number before you place your call and lower the rate substantially in some states. Power Dial does not work with toll free numbers, so be careful. If someone were to call you from within Arizona on your PNG toll free line, the cost to you would be 14.9 cents a minute. Just a word to the wise.

You also may want to consider protecting your toll free number with a PIN number which must be punched in before the call can go through. This prevents telemarketers, or auto dialers, or anyone who gets access to your toll free number from completing the call unless they have your personal PIN number. That way you can give out the toll free number only to the people you choose. (PNG Only)

Be aware that the Federal government has applied a 35 cent surcharge to any call originating from a payphone. This money is passed along to the payphone operator as a way to reimburse him for the use of his payphone. This 35 cent charge also applies when using a calling card. So, if you're going to call home, make sure you use a friend's phone or the hotel phone instead of the payphone when you can.
